An issue has been noticed due to interaction between a recent libc upgrade and the nvidia graphics driver. If you have nvidia hardware, please avoid upgrading until this has been resolved

Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) Released!
One week away from the Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2 release, the archive is now in hard freeze for preparation of that Beta. During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the release team , so if you have fixes which are important to get in, please get in touch as soon as possible (and preferably, get your packages uploaded in parallel!). Uploads to universe require a manual push through the queue, but are not subject to release management approval

The latest daily builds of open-source browser Chromium have added in experimental support for Ubuntu 11.04′s new Global Menu feature via the about:flags staging area. The menu support is thorough, with the traditional set up of ‘File/Edit/View/Tools/Help’ printed in Ubuntu’s panel.
